In our quest to find the unicorn of versatile and travel-friendly essentials, we realized it is and will always be a denim jacket! Perfectly acceptable for casual to classy occasions, and including the most amazing interior pockets which basically act as a hidden purse, denim jackets are our best friends! We've searched the world for the best vintage and second-hand denim jackets to upcycle and customize with sassy sustainable statements on the back. This one says "LOVE PEOPLE LOVE PLANET." A portion of the proceeds from this collection will be donated to The BALSA Foundation which promotes social equity and prosperity by empowering first-time entrepreneurs to start and grow their businesses.
All of the jackets are printed on upcycled light wash GAP denim jackets that were hand-picked and pre-washed by founder, Jessica Conick. Each one is hand screen-printed locally in St. Louis so each one will vary slightly from the photo shown.
Washing Instructions: Hand washing is recommended to keep the print on the back looking fresh. If you want to risk it, you can machine-wash inside out in a mesh delicates bag on your machine's most delicate setting. Hang dry.

About this design: Since starting Mount Indigo, we’ve been focused on the environmental side of sustainable fashion while trying to figure out the best way to weave in the ethical side of the issue. The sad truth is, the amount of social injustice that occurs for us to be able to overstuff our closets with cheap clothes is enough to make most of us want to “belt” a potato sack for the rest of our lives as opposed to help continue this horrible system (when faced with the truth). As the topic of social justice during this pandemic has ripped open so many issues within the fashion industry, we cannot ignore the inhumane treatment of the often-marginalized groups making our clothes. Each of our fashion purchasing decisions is a vote for the social justice practices of the brands we buy from and the industry as a whole. We are not better than the people making our clothes. We are not better than the people who will live on this planet decades after we are gone. Sustainability is about loving people and the planet enough to treat them as we would want to be treated because we are all equal and share this world together.
